Bumbling bank janitor Ernest P. Worrell is assigned to jury duty, and soon finds himself in trouble when he is covertly switched with a look-a-like crime boss. Ernest must escape from jail to expose the mix-up.
A whirlwind of frantic energy and wide-eyed confusion drives this chaotic slapstick comedy through every ridiculous obstacle imaginable. Once a simple janitor is mistaken for a notorious kingpin, the frantic attempts to clear his name turn a routine jury duty stint into a total disaster.
