About

Chinatown, San Francisco, 1928. Former private detective Dashiell Hammett, a compulsive drinker with tuberculosis who writes pulp fiction for a living, receives an unexpected visit from an old friend asking for help.
Fog-drenched San Francisco streets bleed with a smoky, nicotine-stained melancholy that captures the hollow ache of a man losing his battle with both addiction and lungs. This period piece trades flashy action for a slow-burning sense of inevitable decay.
