When Syd, a young editor at an influential art magazine, becomes involved with her neighbor, a drug-addicted lesbian photographer, both seek to exploit each other for their respective careers while slowly falling in love with each other.
The frenetic, nicotine-stained world of nineties art publishing provides a jagged backdrop for this collision of ambition and obsession. Two women trade creative inspiration for chemical escapism, blurring the lines between professional exploitation and genuine intimacy.
