About
You can watch Le Samouraï (1967) on Kanopy with a participating library card.
After carrying out a flawlessly planned hit, Jef Costello, a contract killer with samurai instincts, finds himself caught between a persistent police investigator and a ruthless employer, and not even his armor of fedora and trench coat can protect him.
The hitman's rigid code of honor transforms a standard noir into a hypnotic study of ritual and isolation. Every shadow and silent glance in this minimalist underworld feels heavy with an inevitable, cold precision.
