About
You can stream Love on the Run (1979) on Criterion Channel with a subscription, rent on Apple TV+, or buy on Apple TV+.
Now in his thirties, Antoine Doinel is a divorced proofreader in love with a record seller. Colette Tazzi, now a lawyer, buys his first published autobiography, leading them to a chance meeting.
This bittersweet character study swaps cinematic grandiosity for the messy, quiet rhythms of midlife longing and professional stagnation. Instead of a sweeping romance, you get a tenderly awkward reunion fueled by the ghosts of past mistakes and the sudden friction of a shared history.
