About
A drunken newspaperman, Jerry Corbett, is rescued from his alcoholic haze by an heiress, Joan Prentice, whose love sobers him up and encourages him to write a play, but he lapses back into dipsomania.
Can a woman's devotion actually break the cycle of a man's addiction, or is he doomed to drown in his own impulses? This Pre-Code gem balances sharp wit with the heavy, tragic reality of a writer fighting to stay upright.
