Tokyo engineer Kariya arrives on a primitive tropical island, where he interacts with the Futori clan, to drill a well to power a sugar mill.
Kariya faces a soul-crushing collision between industrial progress and the sacred traditions of a remote island clan. This striking drama pits the relentless demands of modern engineering against a culture that views the earth through a divine lens.
