About
You can stream Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991) on Criterion Channel with a subscription.
In 2001, where all correctional facilities have been privatized, martial artist Ricky finds himself victim to the corrupt system, found "guilty" of the manslaughter of an infamous crime boss.
This hyper-violent prison epic swaps traditional drama for a surreal, cartoonish logic where physics and bodily integrity are mere suggestions. Expect a relentless barrage of over-the-top stunts and practical effects that turn a survival story into a fever dream of martial arts madness.
