About
You can watch The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995) on Hoopla with a participating library card, or rent on JustWatch TV.
When an English cartographer arrives in Wales to tell the residents of the Welsh village of Ffynnon Garw that their 'mountain' is only a hill, the offended community sets out to remedy the situation.
This whimsical fable swaps typical cinematic tension for a gentle, stubborn absurdity fueled by local pride. Instead of fighting for survival, a small village wages a polite war against geography to keep their identity intact.
