About
You can stream The Monkey Goes West (1966) on Eternal Family with a subscription.
THE MONKEY GOES WEST is the first entry in the studio’s epic, four-part screen adaptation of “Journey to the West,” a 16th-century novel recounting the efforts of a Buddhist monk and his magical companions to travel to India and bring back Buddhist sutras.
Vibrant colors and kinetic martial arts choreography turn this mythological odyssey into a dizzying, psychedelic spectacle. The legendary Sun Wukong leaps across the screen with a playful energy that captures the chaotic spirit of the classic tale.
