Pierre Lachenay is a well-known publisher and lecturer, married to Franca and father of Sabine. He starts a love affair with air hostess Nicole, which Pierre is hiding, but he cannot stay away from her.
Can a man truly outrun the suffocating comfort of his bourgeois domesticity once he tastes the thrill of an illicit affair? This quiet study of infidelity captures the precise moment when a stable life begins to fray at the edges.
