Returning to the village where a year before he had killed Hirate, a much-admired opponent, Zatoichi encounters another swordsman and former rival in love.
A blind swordsman navigates a landscape of heavy regret and sudden violence with a weary, soulful intensity. Every rhythmic strike of the blade carries the weight of a man haunted by the ghosts of past victories.
