About
You can stream Sunny (2024) on Apple TV+ with a subscription.
The life of an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As consolation, she's given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband's electronics company.
A melancholic, neon-lit loneliness permeates this quiet meditation on grief and artificial companionship. Amidst the wreckage of a family tragedy, a domestic robot offers a strange, mechanical solace that feels both eerie and profoundly human.
